KHYBER PASS, Pakistan (AP) — An Associated Press reporter says container trucks and oil tankers bound for U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan have resumed travel through the Khyber Pass.
A convoy of about 30 vehicles began moving Monday under armed escort after militant attacks prompted their suspension from the critical supply route.
Much of the supplies used by foreign troops in Afghanistan go through the famed, but increasingly perilous passage.
Last Monday, dozens of suspected Taliban militants hijacked several trucks whose load included Humvees heading to the U.S.-led coalition.
Pakistani officials imposed the suspension soon afterward to review security.
